Its strong performance and range of rotors make the Sigma 1‑16 ideal for microbiological and protein biochemistry applications and clinical chemistry applications.

The Sigma 1‑16K features RCF values greater than 20,600 x g, short acceleration and braking times, a high-grade stainless steel bowl, and a motorised lid lock for effortless closing. Further highlights include the ability to store ten standard programs, the biosafe closable rotor with a capacity of 36 x 2 ml, and the rotor for 12 x 5 ml test tubes.
The Sigma 1‑16K also features a fan control that adjusts the fan speed according to the necessary cooling capacity, making the centrifuge significantly quieter and reducing power consumption. At maximum speed the Sigma 1‑16K reliably achieves +4°C.
