Whistleblower system
The Whistleblower Protection Act (Hinweisgeberschutzgesetz or HinSchG) protects from discrimination individuals (so-called whistleblowers) who wish in the course of their professional activities to report unlawful conduct or irregularities in the organisation.
This includes, for example, criminal offences under legal regulations in the areas of product safety, environmental protection, occupational health and safety, public procurement, consumer protection, protection of personal data or minimum wage.
Reports are accepted at hinweisgeber-meldestelle@sigma-zentrifugen.de and will be treated confidentially.
The identity of the whistleblower and of persons who may be the subject of a report is known only to the Reporting Office Officer and to those persons who are responsible for taking follow-up action.
If a report is received by the reporting office, the procedure is as follows:
- receipt of the report
- confirmation of receipt to the whistleblower (deadline: 7 days)
- plausibility check by the reporting office, analysis of the facts
- initiation of follow-up measures
- feedback to whistleblower on planned or already taken follow-up measures (deadline: 3 months after confirmation of receipt)
- documentation of the report
- deletion of the data 3 years after completion of the respective procedure
